AN EXPLANATION.
To the Editor. §jp^ } —My attention has been drawn to a local in last night’s Star, in which it is represented that the case, “ Hunter v, Cargill,” was settled through the friendly interposition of myself. As it is inferred by many, from the tenor of your local, that St. Andrew’s Church went outside for a mediator, I wish to state that I was merely a member of a deputation appointed by the Deacon’s Court of the Church (of which I am a member) to settle the matter.—l am, &c., Keith Ramsay. Dunedin, Oct. 29, 1872.
