LIBRARY OF REFERENCE.
A meeting of subscribers to the Library of Reference took place at the Provincial Council Chambers to-day at noon. The Rev. Dr. Stuart was in the chair, and his Honor the Superintendent and other gentlemen were present. The Secretary, Mr Session, read the minutes of the last meeting, which were °°The draught of the rules of the library, prepared by the Snb-Committee, was read, and it was resolved that they should be considered at a future meeting. A letter was read stating that books to the value of L 233 had been ordered, and shipped L the Hi ster Burns, which sailed from cfascow on the IGth August. 8 On the motion of his Honor the Superin. TENCENT, seconded by Professor . iACURLGo , it was resolved to request Profossors ot the University to prepare anew list. ol: winks required, the cost of which should not exC °lb was also resolved that the Treasurer be requested to advertise for subscriptions, and to publish the names of subscribers m the Dallil Times and Kveiling Star ItVas announced that at the urgent request of the committee, Professors -hand and M‘Gregor kindly consented to collect tb !t'‘So reported that the Hmr Robert Campbell, himself a liberal subscriber was about to write homo to his father, and ha I resolved to request him to contribute one thousand pounds to the library.
