PORT CHALMERS TOWN COUNCIL.
The regular meeting of the Town Council of Port Chalmers held last evening in the Town Hall. The Mayor and all the C»uncillors were present. Several accounts were passed and referred to the Finance Committee. The report of the Works Committee was read and adopted. Mr A bale moved that the works in Currie street be proceeded with according to plans and specifications. Mr Miller objected to the specifications. In answer to a question by Mr Isnkij, it was stated that the Works Committee had read the specification, and the motion passed. The consideration of proceeding with certain works in Beach street and of the Local Revenue Ordinance was postponed to next meeting. Draft Bye-laws Nos. 1 and 2 were adopted. Tho appointment of Sergeant Colder as collector of lopal revenue was recommended ; the salary to be Lit) per ahnnui. It was resolved that notice should bo given to the lessee of the large quarry to keep a road 20 feet wide clear tor traffic, as agreed to ; and that tenders should be called for not more than four chains of fencing in Wickliffe terrace. Several enquiries were made as to water supply and other works, which were answered satisfactorily.
