Auckland, October 11. Oakley pleaded guilty to committing breaches of the Arms Act at Maketu. Sentence was deferred. The Grand Jury pointed out that this man had kept an armourer’s shop in a native pa for a long tl! Renry Cuthbertson, the Post Office clerk, was found guilty of stealing a test letter. A point of law has been reserved for the Appeal Court as to whether stealing a letter which is not an ordinary post letter, is larceny or embezzlement. The Green Harp bondsmen have been released on their own application.
Lyttelton, Oct. 14. The gig May Flower has been bought for the Wellington Club for L 25.
