Sir, —In reply to Mr M‘lndoc’s letter of the 27th, and your report of meeting held on 23rd inst., I, as chairman, beg to state that no resolution as mentioned was passed at said meefipg. In justice to our member Mr Smith, who has had no timeasyet to showhisabilityordesire to represent us, I insert this letter, and would have done so ere this, but thought Mr M ‘ludoe would have corrected himself after seeing seconder of supposed resolution.—l am, &c., A.
