KENSINGTON MEETING.
To the Editor. Sjr,—ln your report of a meeting of the ratepayers of Kensington and Forbury, held at flaye’s Hotel o,n the 23rd, it is stated that, op the ipqlion of Mr Dvmdep, seconded by Mr Ureu, that it was unanimously agreed to, that a subdivision is not desirable, and that as Mr Smith did not represent the opinions of the district, be should be called on to resign. The correct report is, that Mr Dunden proposed, and a ratepayer seconded, a vote of thanks to Mr M‘lndoe for his address, coupled with a motion to this effect: That this meeting objects to a subdivision, and if Mr Smith, their representative, does not oppose it, he be called on to resign. Mr H«I---fagan moved an amendment, and Mr Uren seconded, that this meeting pledges itself to oppose a subdivision, and if Mr Smith does not pledge himself to oppose it, he be called en to resign. As neither amendment or motion was put to the meeting, a vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the wonderful proceedings. Seeing that Mr Jyl'lpdqe and all the other metpbers of the present Board W their election speeches declared themselves in favor of a division, the proceedings were really wonderful. By inserting the above you will oblige.— I am, &c., A Ratepayer.
