Inquiry—The adjourned inquiry as to the escape of the prisoner Plummer was held to-day at the goal bofoie the\isffing justices, I. N. W:itt, A. L. Strode, and W. Mason, Fsqs. Warders Carey aud Edmond were examined at considerable length. William Henley, who was in change of the cricket-ground, also gave evidence, and >">erger.nt Fergussou. who had charge of Plummer on the day of escape, in examination said a constable was especially appointed to look after Plummer. The inquiry is not concluded at the time our going to press.
