The amount of revenue received at the Cua-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day. was LlB5 11s lid.

In breadstuffs the market during the week has been steady. Flour is in good trade demand. The price is firm at LI 3in sacks ; and for parcels the town millers would not be prepared to take less. Second quality has a good sale at LU. Bran has been, advanced 20s per ton, and the price now stands at L 3 10s to L 4 ; stocks are low, Pollard quiet at L 5 10s. Oatmeal meets with a good enquiry from the northern ports at Lll 10i toLI2. Oats have slightly improved ; good milling sorts fetch Is lid to 2a; and feeding la lOd; transactions are, however, limited to the trade. Wheat is without change : if anything, the price is firmer ; for good milling sorts 5s 3(1 is the value. Second class lots are not wanted. Fowl wheat has a steady sale at 3s. Barley continues badly supplied; for malting samples there are ready purchasers at 5s 6d to os 9d ; and for inferior kinds 4s 6d is easily obtained. Potatoes are not over-supplied, and for good samples L 7 10s is quoted. Straw, L2 ss, Hay, L 3 15s. Chaff, L 3 15s. A. Mercer reports for the we»k ending August 17 Retail prices only—Fresh butter, in 41b and lib prints, beat quality, Is 4d to Is 6d per lb ; second quality, Is 4d ; fresh butter in lumps, Is 2d ; powdered and salt butter, best quality, is 2d; second, lOd to lid. Fresh butter is a little more plentiful this week; the supply is met by the demand, however, and prices still remain unaltered. Really good samples of salt butter are not to be had,.and may be quoted from 10d to Is per lb. Cheese is in very good request; best quality is worth 8d to 9d , second quality, 6d per lb. Side and rolled bacon is fetching 9d to lOd. Eggs are again a little more plentiful, and selling at Is bd per doz. _________________
