Tins Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor.) drunkenness. Frederick Halladay, James Johnstone, and William Thomas, were each fined ss; and James Henry George, 10s, or forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. THEFT. George Sinclair, charged with stealing a horse, the property of Thomas Harrison, Tomahawk, was, on the application of the police, remanded for a week. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. Eliza Wood was fined 20s, with the alternative of forty-eight hours’ imprisonment for this offence, WIFE DESERTION, Michael Cain was further remanded till to-morrow. BYE-LAW CASES. The following cases were dismissed with a caution Thomas Josling and Thomas Everett, driving a cart at night without proper lights; A. W. Smith, allowing horses to wander: Cornelius Driscoll, allowing the
Company’s water to run to waste. Janies Leckie, silling wood without a license, was fined 2s GI; James Patrick, building without a license, 2s 6d and costs ; James Smith, Michael Gorman, Michael Heads, for driving round street corners at other than a walking pace, were each lined Is and cos f jj Smith and Gorman were each lined la and costs for plying for hire off the cab-stand. Henry Scott, allowing a horse to wander, was lined 2s fid.
