The Wellington Smallpox Patient. —Some uneasiness having been caused iu Christchurch and Lyttelton by the knowledge that Kaye, the Wellington small-pox patient, had called in there on his way south, and slept in Christchurch one night, the Deputy Superintendent (Mr E. J. S, Harman) wrote to Mr Eolleston, who is now in Wellington, to ask whether Kaye was perfi ct’y convalescent before leaving the Empire city, and received the following reply by by telegramKaye was discharged convalescent after being detained beyond the usual time. Every precaution was taken, fresh clothes, &c,, being given to him, and be has probably gone to Dunedin, where he has relatives. ” —Lyttelton Times. (For continuation of news see fourth page.)
