PORT CHALMERS MAYORALTY.

The nomination of candidates for the Mayoralty of Port Chalmers took place at noon to-day at the Town Hall. There were two candidates proposed. Mr Henry Dench, proposed by Dr {Drysdalo, seconded by MrJ M'Kcnzie. Mr Hugh M'Dennid, proposed by Mr Andrew M'Kinnonand seconded by Mr William limes.

A largo number of ratepayers were present. Both candidates addressed the meeting, but no important questions were asked, Mr G. L. Asher, the presiding officer, adjourned the meeting until Monday next, the 22nd July, when the poll will be taken at the places appointed in the dillerent wards.
