PORT CHALMERS ELECTION.
To the Editor. Sir,-—Monday next is the last night but one of the opera company at Port Chalmers for this season. The piece appointed to be played is “ Rush wick Lights and Paving Stones.” It is, however, contemplated to produce a new sensational drama (provided the artists can get the scenery painted in time), entitled “How to Make Money; or, Sell yourLIOO Stock for L 95.” The proprietors are in hopes to be enabled to produce this last drama with great effect, if the Nevada does not sail for San Francisco before the Ist August next, as the stage manager for the benefit of his health requires a trip to Jerusalem, and the agent, in order to bring this piece out with the greatest eclat , has left for the interior to provide himself with setnery fitted for the piece. The public are particularly requested nob to let these opportunities pass, but by their attendance encourage the proprit tors in their efforts, as it has cost them a good deal of money to produce the above pieces. E. C. Port Chalmers, July 12.
