Pritchard v. Hammond.—Ll, for the cost of glass broken through defendant falling through it while intoxicated. —The plaintiff said hearing a crash he went out, and found defendant lying in a water-hole. On helping him out aud taking him into the office, he said, “By G—, wasn’t I sharp to tumble through a glass window, and run in here out of a water-hole ?” The defendant agreed to pay for glazing the window, but had never done so,—The defendant objected to pay, on the ground that the square had been broken previously, and that he was not seriously intoxicated. He considered it only a bit of trade jealousy, as Pritchard had lost a few carriers, and had blamed him (Hammond) for getting them from him.—This Pritchard denied, and said there was no man he respected more.—Judgment for the plaintiff, los, with costs. Sontag v. George,—L2 7s 6d, for fruit and gum trees supplied. Judgment for the plaintiff by default for the amount claimed, with costs.
