Sir, —I find by the London papers (Civil Service Gazette ) lately received that, at the recent competition for 100 appointments in the Excise, the Irish candidates were again most remarkably successful, securing, as they did, not less than 54 of the coveted prizes. Scotland furnished only 11 winners.—l am, &c., Veritas.
