Wild Deer for London, early. Wellington for Northern Ports, May 29 There had been no arrivals at, or departures from the Tort at 2 p.m. to-day. The s.s. Alhambra for Melbourne via the Bluff, and s.s Gothenburg, for Northern Ports, were preparing for sailing at 3 p.m. A strong squally N.W. wind has prevailed to-day, and at 1.40 this afternoon a signal was made at the Heads that a boat was drifting to sea. The s.s. Beautiful Star, having steam up was immediately despatched ta render assistance. The signal Was how k ever made that the boat was out of danger. The s.s. Beautiful Star sailed from Port Chalmers on the 19th at 5 p.m. : arrived at Tiniarn at 11 a.m. on the 20th ; discharged half a boat load cargo, but as the sea became too heavy she could not discharge any more ; proceedeed] at 7 p.m on the same day; arrived at Akaroa at 6 a.m. on the 21st; discharged and sailed at 9 a.m. ; arrived at Lyttelton at 5 p.mt, head -winds and heavy sea ; sailed from Lyttelton at 2 p.m. on the 22nd; arrived at Akaroa at 8 p.m. ; discharged and took in cargo and sailed at 10.30 p m. ; arrived at Timaru at 11 a.m. on the 23rd ; remained there discharging and taking in cargo till 9 pm. on the 24th and sailed ; arrived at Oamaru at 7 am. to-day, the 25 th; discharged and sailed again at 8.15, and arrived here at 2.30 p.m. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.
