Political. —The meeting held in the Provincial Council Library on Saturday to consider the personnel of the Government, was composed solely. of goldfields members. There were present, Messrs Shepherd, Hickey, Mcrvyu, Innes, Armstrong, J. C. Brown, G. F. C. Browne, Bastings, and Daniel. Mr Shepherd was voted to the chair. The meeting came to the unanimous conclusion that they could not support, and had no confidence in the Government as at present constituted. It was agreed to secure the co operation of other sections of the Council in obtaining a reconstruction of the Government. We understand that those present at the meeting expressed considerable astonishment that a garbled version of a meeting, which was considered to have been .strictly private, should have appeared, in the Dailp Times; and it is surmised that the gentleman who volunteered the information which led to the insertion in our contemporary’s columns of the paragraph referred to, has not yet had any parliamentary experience. Instead of the Hon. Mr Holmes or Mr Thomson having been requested to undertake the duty of tabling a “ no-confi-dence ” motion, we are in a position to state that no one has yet been selected for the purpose. Advertisements received too late for Classification. Foil SALE, the property of Mr F. J. Wilson, a commodious Six Boomed House and half an acre of ground, well planted, situate in N ork Place.
