THE LATE ACCIDENT AT THE OCEAN BEACH.
. To the Editor.
Sir, — As our Volunteers are supposed to be a liberal body, I have been waiting with Eatience to see whether the appeals which ave been made to their generosity on behalf of the family of the young man who met with the lata serious accident at the Ocean Beach, are likely tor be responded to. As it is generally believed that it was through the carelessness of one of their comrades that ' he accident occurred, I trust the Volunteers will keep up their prestige by making whatever reparation lies in their power. As one of the general public, I am anxious to learn what steps (if any) have been taken, as I would be quite willing to contribute my mite. Yours, &c., Sympathiser. Dunedin, May 25.
