Messrs gillies and street hare much pleasure in intimating that they have been appointed by THE NORWICH U'vION FIRE AND LIFE INSURANCE COMPANIES OF ENGLAND To represent them in the Province, and that they will be prepared in a few weeks to effect Fire and Life Insurance business on terms which will contrast favorably with the rates of other offices. THE NORWICH UNION LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY Was instituted in 1808, and is one of the few purely mutual Insurance Offices. It has issued more than 37,600 Policies, and has paid to the Representatives of more than 8000 deceased Members upwards of SEVEN MILLION POUNDS STERLING The ACCUMULATED CAPITAL amounts to nearly Two and-a-Half Millions sterling, the whole of which is securely invested upon first-class securities. THE RATES OF PREMIUM Will be found, by comparison, to be on a very moderate scale. Under 45 years Jof age not leas so than 10 per cent, below those charged by most offices, and, in some cases, not exceeding the non-participating rates of other Companies, The advantages to be derived by Members of this Society may be estimated from the statement that, In addition to £910,882 paid in the Jive years ending in June, 1866, for sums assured, a further sum of £224.605 was paid for bonuses thereon, making in all £1,135,487 paid in five years to the representatives of deceased members. SETTLEMENT POLICIES To meet one of the greatest wants of the day, this Society issues Policies in the nature of Settlements, securing a certain and direct provision for the family of the Insurer. POST NUPTIAL SETTLEMENTS. In like manner a settlement after marriage may be made, provided the transaction is bona fide. These insurances, now for the first time introduced, are fully explained in special Prospectus. The Members of this Society, by its regulations and uniformly liberal management, have provided for them every advantage and convenience in carrying out their insurance arrangements, are consistent with security. THE NORWICH UNION FIRE INSURANCE SOCIETY Was instituted in 1821, with A SUBSCRIBED CAPITAL OF £550,000. The rates of Premium, based on an equitable system of Assessment, are exceedingly moderate, ts regulations liberal, while the security afforded by it is unquestionble. The office is distinguished by its liberality and promptnessin the settlement of claims, the sum of £2,698,416 homing been paid to Insurers for losses by fire.
