Government Notices. V. R. NO MINAT ED IM MIGRATION. THE RESIDENT MINISTER for the Middle Island directs the publication of the following extracts from the Imxnigra tion Regulations 1. The Regulations and forms of application may he obtained at any Postoffice in the colony, but payments for passages muss be made at Money < irder Post-offices, or to the Immigration Officer at the capital town of each p ovince or country. 2, Persons can nominate friends in Europe upon payment in advance of L 5 per statute adult under 50 years of age, L2 IGs for each child under 12 years of ago. Infants under 12 months, free. 3. Free passages will be granted to girls of 12 years and upwards accompanying their parents ; and to single women, between the ages of 16 and 35, provided they are approved by the Agent General in London. 4. Single women are required to pay to the Agent General 255, and every other adult 20s (children in proportion) for bedding, blankets, and mess utensils. 5. In the event of any person nominated declining to emigrate, the money deposited with Government will be returned to the applicants. 6. Immigration Officers will receive app’i, cations as under:— a. Prom persons ■who may wish to give hills for the passage money of their friends instead of paying cash. The amount of the Bill will be at the rate of L 7 10s per statute adult, payable thirty days after the arrival iu the colony of the person nominated. b. From persons who desire to leave to their agents in Europe the nomination of emigrants of any particular class. c. From person?, whose friends are over fifty years ef age. d. From persons whose friends an widows with children. 7. The cost of conveyance to the Port of embarkation in Europe, and of conveyance to the residence of friends in the Colony is not included in the rates quoted above. 8. The ships employed in the, service will be under the provisions of the “ Passenger Act,” 9. Notwithstanding applications may have been granted at Money Order Post Offices, Immigration Officers are empowered to object to any person who, from occupation or any other oause, may be considered unsuitable, and the Agent-General in London will refuse passages where the persons nominated are in ill health, or iu any way unfitted to proceed to the coleny.
