MAILS CLOSE. Friday, 10th inst. Per s. a. Wellington, as under : For Northern Ports of New Zealand, America, West Indies, the Continent of Europe, &c., and United Kingdom, via San Francisco at 1 p m. Late letters with one additional single rate per letter may be posted till 1.30 a.nu Newspapers, registered letters, and money orders, at 10 a.m. For Timaru, Akaroa, Lyttelton, Christchurch, and Westland, per s.s. “ Beautiful Star at 3.30 p.ra. To-morrow, the 9th inst-, being the day appointed by the governor of N.Z. for celebration of thanksgiving for the recovery of H.E.H. the Prince of Wales, this office will be closed and all mails usually despatched on a Thursday, will be made up this evening at 8 o’clock.
