WASTE LAND BOARD.

The usual weekly meeting of the Waste Land Board was held yesterday. There were present the Chief Commissioner (iu the chair) and Messrs Reid, Duncan, and Hughes, Mr Reid applied (for J. W. Robertson) to purchase 224 acres, section {J, Upper Wakatip district, with consent of innholder. Applicant to obtain note from Boult’s trustees, that they did not intend to take up application. Blacks township, new surrey (named Mauuherikia) plan for approval. Approved. Mr Reid (for Herbert & Co.) applied for reduction of the license fee payable for their sawmill from LOO to LCD.—Declined.

The application of Joseph M'Guish to purchase section 28, block 9, Shotover, held under agricultural lease, wvs agreed to. Plan of survey of Theyers and Beck’s brewery site, Alexandra, for approval, and to have the price fixed. Approved. Price L2 per acre. Application of Robert Robson, for Totora Island, deferred from last meeting, was declined.

The application of F. A. Frederic, for permission to use two chains of a limestone reef near Frew’s Creek, Lake Wakatip, and which is adjacent to that under lease by Mr Borrows, was declined. The application for an agricultural lease of 50 acres iu Maniototo district, between Naseby and Hamilton, near the main road junction, was referred to the Warden. The application of R. Craigie to purchase an island of the Taieri, section 48, block 1, Clarendon, was also declined. Connell and Moodie, for Christian Hill, applied to purchase 25 acres of laud on Run 28, adjoining his present holding, with runholder’s consent. It was resolved the land should be surveyed at applicant’s expense, then to be offered at auction; upset price, LI per acre, and if not purchased by applicant, surveyor’s fees to he added, aud paid over to him by the purchaser. William Cunningham applied to purchase or lease part of section 36, block 3, Waikouaili district. Application declined. With regard to Run 257, it was resolved that it be advertised and sold by auction, under terms of usual lease, on 13th June next. Lease to commence on expiry of present license. Upset price, Is 2d per acre.
