"AUT CÆSAR AUT NULLUS."
To the Editor.
In answer to your correspondent, “A Member of S.H.H. A.,” in the remarks that he makes in the first part of his letter about my making false and ridiculous statements, and in the latter part about my letter being tbe greatest rubbish, &c., I must state that as I neither tell lies (though a shopkeeper) in my business nor out of it, I must decline having anything more to say to one who, whatever his position in society, proves himself by his language not to be a gentleman. Should however any other member of the S.H.H.A. desire to renew the discussion in a more courteous way, I shall be most happy to continue it (Mr Editor permitting) to a conclusion. I am, &c., C-U3AR, Dunedin, April 23.
