THE WATERWORKS.

To the Editor. Sir, —ln the report of the Directors of the Dunedin Water Works Company, there occurs the following paragraph, viz. “It was with great regret that the Directois were compelled to do without Mr Langland’s report, in consequence of his beii g unable, on the eve of his departure for England, to overtake it.” Can it be possib.c that Mr Langland’s has sent his report to England without keeping a copy for local use ; and if so, where does he expect to overtake the original ? My own impressn n is, that the Directors’ report must have been written by some funny Scot who wished to have a joke on the First op April.
