Taranaki for Northern Ports, March 26 Wallace for Oamaru, March 26 Warrior Queen for London, March 30 The screw steamers Claud Hamilton and Taranaki for the Bluff, and the Maori for Lyttelton, via intermediate ports, sailed last evening. The brigantine Sea Bird, for Melbourne, with cargo, was towed to sea last evening by the p.s. Geelong. The s.s. Beautiful Star arrived at 11 a.m, to-day, left Port Chalmers on Tuesday 21st in at., at 7.40 p.m., arrived at Timaru on the 22nd, at noon ; discharged and loaded cargo, and sailed same day at 9 30 p.m.; experienced thick calm weather throughout. To discover the leak of the barque Hydra that vessel was yesterday placed in the Graving Dock, a large quantity of water was pumped into the vessel, and the effect produced was all that could be desired. A large jet of water issued from the garbel streak on the port side, well aft. On examination, a seam was discovered to be quite open. The necessary repairs will be executed by Messrs Jackson Brothers, of Port Chalmers, and will include the stripping and caulking of the garbel streak, fore and aft, refastening the breast hooks, and other repairs.
