At Napier, on Monday last, Mr Ormond, the Minister of Public Work*, in reply to a deputation of Meanee settlers, said that the projected line of railway would be constructed on the principal of benefiting districts with the largest population. The Engineer’s opinion would only be conclusive as to the cost.
