ACCIDENT.
Mr Robinson, R.M., held an inquest at on the 16th inst., on the body of Rasmus Larsen, aged 35, miner, and a native of Dr iga, Denmark, who died the same day from injuries received by a fall of earth, while working his claim at Milkman’s Gully, Surface Hill. The deceased arrived at Naseby about twelve months ago, and was employed as a dairyman for three or four months, when he took to mining, and was iu the habit of working by himself. On the sth ii'st., while undermining ablock of ground In his claim a large quantity of earth fell upon him, ciushing him severely. A shepherd who was passing at the time, hearing screams, went to the place and found him partly covered with earth. With assistance, Larsen was extracated and conveyed to the Ancient Briton Hotel, where he was attended by Dr M‘Cambridge. He lingered till the morning of the ICtb, when he expired. He is not known to have had any relatives in the colony. The jury returned a verdict of “ Accidental death from injuries received by a quantity of earth falling on him.”
