To the Editor. g IB _Xn the Times’ leader of Saturday there appeared a few items of information concerning the principal libraries of the old country. I forwarded a letter to the editor of that journal, pointing out that he had made no mention of the University Library at St Andrew’s, which con ains I'>o,ooo volumes and about ICO interesting Ma*-. although the libraries of the Universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, aud Aberdeen were brought forward as three of the principal collections in Scotland. The editor of the Times has seen fit to suppress my letter, probably because it gives a little unwelcome information ; and I shall feel obliged if you will now allow me to state that the University of St. Andrew’s possesses a library nearly twice as large as that at Glasgow, and nearly three times as large as the University Library at Aberdeen.
