SATURDAY HALF-HOLIDAY.

To the Editor, Sir,—One who sympathises very much with the i üblicans and their assistants (who form a large portion of the community), regrets no allusion is made to them in your very able article on the Saturday ha’f holi day movement. Pity the poor barmaids, who have no gallant father to sec them kome, safe from thp “insults and insinuations of wicked men. ” Talk about drapers and others being prisoners, how much more so the n, at the same time inhaling all the odious odours of those gin palaces. Is it not very injurious to their health ? Hoping the publicans will consider this, for the good of their own health and the health of others, and join heart and hand with other tradesmen to get a half-holiday every Saturday, is the sincere desire of a Female Wellwisheb To the Movement.
