WASTE LAND BOARD.
This Day. The Waste Land Board met at noon today. Present Tho ' Inef Commissioner of Waste Lands, Messrs Keid, Duncan, and Hughes. Mr G. F. Reid’s application for Brown and Turner for a lease of a quarry reserve, Shot over District, was referred to the Wardden. Mr Howard’s application for purchase of an acre for John Richard’s, on Kawarau road was postponed. Mr Dalrymple’s application for_ John Brown, of Tokomairiro, for LI2 17s lOd, indemnity for alledged wrongful issue of a Crown Grant, was referred to the Chief bommi-sioner for report. Mi- Bathgate’s application on behalf of John Durward, Kyeburn, for a coal lease, said to be abandoned ley Brown, Collingwood, and Co., -was referred jt.Q tjpe Warden. On the application of Alex, iijliot for run 441, it was ordered to be assessed and offered at auction on the usual terms. W. (). Ball’s application to purchase 44 acres of run No. 8 : ), with consent of the runholder, was declined. On Mr Warden Borton’s report on Charles Nicholson’s application, it was decided that a mill site and other sections be laid off by the district surveyor for sale. Connell and Moodie’s application for a coal lease for Martin M‘Far laud was granted at a rental of one pound per acre. Price at the pit’s mouth not to exceed 10s per ton. ’ Hugh M‘Pherson?s application to put a punt on the tivoi; <qfc Newcastle, was referred to the Warden, The town laud at Grey town waa directed to he surveyed in quarter-acre sections, block 19 to be reserved as a quarry, and block 20 for a school site.
