MIDDLE SCHOOL ENTERTAINMENT.

To the Editor. Sir, —Permit me a word of explanation in reference to the notice of Mr Westropp in yesterday’s issue of the Daily Times. Ou the 2nd inst, a messenger called upon him to request his aid in the entertainment then proposed to be held on Friday the Btb, when he stated “he would only be too happy, but, as be was going in the country, lie could not say whether he would be backjfor Friday.” To meet this, the entertainment was put off till Tuesday, the 13th, and his name put on the programme. On Friday the Btb, the same messenger called upon him and handed him a programme, when he stated “ I have given up singing.” I am happy to state that several well known amateurs have volunteered to supply the vacancy.—l am, &o. T, Halljwell.
