The Volunteers. —The ten men who represent Otago at the forthcoming Colonial competition in March arc Vol, Hickson, P. (J. W. 8., 54 points ; Sergeant Biatch, West Taieri, 50; Vol Japcea Key, 5O Taierq 49 ; Vol. J. Brown, East Taieri, 46; Sergeant Wilson, Scoltish, 45 ; Vol. W. Henderson, Riverton, 44; Vol. Cowie, Scottish, 44 ; Voh Donald Reid, Artillery, 44 ; Vol. M‘Daren, South 1 District, 44. Capt. M'Farland, Artillery, is in waiting with 44 points, and will take the place of any person unable to go up. We are happy to say for this Province what cannot be said of any of the others, so far as is yet known—that we have seven men qualified over and above the required number ; and we understand several pi theqi intend'paying their ow'n expi nses and competing.
