Cholera.—r-Xt is reported that two cases of Asiatic cholera have occurred in Victoria.

Executive Changes.—lt is notified in to-day’s Gazette that, on and after February, the following changes in the Executive will take effect:—Mr Keid to be Provincial Secretary and Treasurer and Secretary for Land; Mr Bradshaw to be Goldfields Secretary and Secretary for Wprks. Musical.—From Yjptorian exchange files we note that Madame Simoncep, who was expected to visit New Zealand shortly, left Melbourne for Sydney on January 15, with a small company. She contemplates a month’s stay in Sydney, after which she Sroceeds to Auckland, Honolulu, and so to alifornia.

Colonial Industries. —It is announced that Mr W, A. Murray, M.H.R., Glenore, who has been appointed member for Otago of the Colonial Industries Committee, will be glad to receive communications from persons interested i# establishing new industries and in developing the material resources of tb > Province.

Port Chalmers. A meeting iu connection with the British and Foreign Bible Society was held iu the Presbyterian Church, Port Chalmers, on Monday evening last. The Rev. W. Johnstone presided. After an interesting and instructive address from the society’s agent, the Rev. Mr Backhouse, who is making a tour through New Zealand, it was moved by the Rev J. Maxwell, seconded by the Rev J. Smalley, and carried unanimously -That this meeting having heard the statement of the Roy. Mr Backhouse, resolves—“An association be formed at Port Chalmers in connection with the Dunedin auxiliary to the above Society.” the following gentlemen were elected officebears, viz. ; —President, Rev W. Johnstone ; secretary, Rev. J. Maxwell; committee, the ministers of Protestant Churches, Capt, Wm, Thomson, Messrs A. Cameron, R, Bauchop, D, G, Stephens, Johnston, Duke, and Downes. The Rev. J. S. Smalley closed the meeting with the benediction. A collection for the Society was made at the door. The meeting of subscribers to the Benevolent Institution is postponed until Monday, sth February. The Secretary of the Otago Rifle Association will attend at Wain’s Hotel, on Monday, sth of February, between 7 and 8 p.m., to receive entries, after which members will draw for places in the forthcoming matches.
