The p.s. Samson left Port Chalmers yesterday afternoon with his Honor the intendent, accompanied by the Hon. «• Reeves, .Resident Minister for the Middle Island, and other gentlemen on board, to visit Gatlin’s River, /Stewart’s Island, and other places on the coast; the steamer was, however, put back, and again sailed at 2 this afternoon. The ship Warrior Queen was this forenoon removed by the p.s. Geelong from the lower anchorage to a convenient discharging berth, near Observation Point. The barque Glencoe was last evening towed to Dunedin by the p.s. Geelong. The s.s. Maori sailed last evening for Lyttelton and intermediate ports, with passengers and cargo. The schooner Florence, with timber, from Havelock, was this afternoon removed from the Port, and passed up to Dunedin. The Bengal left Newcastle on the 15th inst., and experienced fine weather, with northerly winds on the passage. Reports that the barque Indus, hound hence, put back in a leaky condition.
