Tbo amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was £360 13s 9d. There is still a brisk demand for trade lots of flour at Ll3. Country brands have not been forced in the market in very large lots of late which has kept the wants of the town pretty well confined to the local mills. Inferior flour is moving slowing at LlO to Lll. Bran is wanted much in excess of the quantity that is available and the millers refuse to execute orders excepting to regular customers who are supplied at L 3. Pollard is also scarce at L 4. Oatmeal has a good sale at Ll3 10s, Pearl barley, JLI7 10s, Milling wheat is out of the market. Second class lots are quiet at 4s to 4s 6d. Fowl wheat firm at 3s 3d. Oats dull at 2s. Malting barley is quitted at 3s 9d, For feeding and damaged samples there are no purchasers. Hay L 4 5s ; chaff, 1310s. A. Mercer reports for the week ending Jan. 20. —Retail prices only : Fresh butter, in i and lib prints, best quality, 7d to Sdper lb j second quality, 6d per lb ; powpowdered and salt butter, 7d per lb. There has been a marked falling-off in the quantity of butter coming in this week, on account of the dry weather. Several small lots of butter in kegs have been shipped this week for the home market. There is no alteration in the cheese market, and demand is very limited ; for best quality, 6d to 8d per lb; second quality 5d to fid. Side and rolled bacon, smoked or otherwise, 9d to lOd per lb. Colonial hams, lid to Is' per lb. Eggs are in good demand, at Is per dozen.
