Mining Regulations. —New raining regulations are published in the Provincial Goverment Gazette of the 9th iust. Supreme Couht.—The heaving of the case Hunter v. Will and others was continued at the sittings of the Supreme Court to-day. Late News.—A telegram, dated London, December 4, received in Wellington, says:—“ There is a strong feeling in wool, and it is expected that the next sales will realise up to the highest price of the last sales. Flax has advanced 30s per ton since the departure of the November ■ mail.” Carpenters’ Strike.—The cavpen ters’ strike in Wellington is ended. The men have accepted the employers’ terms, that forty-six hours shall constitute the week’s work ; that employes should be paid by the hour ; that the question of wages be a matter of arrangement between each employer and his men ; and that the number of working hours be eight, excepting on Saturdays, when hands shall work six hours, finishing each day at three o’clock.
