WASTE LAND BOARD.

■ This Day. The Waste Land Board met at noon today ; present, the Chief Cammissioner of Waste Lands, Messrs Reid and Hughes. Sections 52 and 53, block 14, Glenkenich, applied for to be purchased by Mr Hovvat, were resolved to be surveyed at applicant s expense, put up for auction at the upset price of LI per acre, with L 250 valuation and cost of survey attached. Charles Nicholson’s application for a reserve at Etlrick, for site of a flour mill was referred to the Warden. H. J. Cope’s application to buy sections 54 and 55 block 7, Shotover, held under an agricultural lease was approved. To be paid for in a mouth. In future, if purchases of this kind are not paid for within a month, and the next half-year’s rent fall due, the rent must be paid before the sale is sanctioned. The half of section 5, block 29, Clutha, applied for by David Whyrock, was agreed to be offered for sale as laud of special value ; upset price, LI per acre. The consideration of Mr F. Fulton’s appli cation for a depasturing license for the Traquair Hundred, was postponed pending his forwarding a return of his acreage in terms of the Act. It was resolved that the northern portion of the land at Oamaru, applied for by Messrs Connell and Moodie on behalf of James Don, be offered as land of special value, at LI per acre, having been so long withheld from sale. In the dispute between C. J. Marie aud J. La Fontaine, respecting the coal lease prepared for them, it was determined to cancel the lease if not properly signed by the parties in the course of two weeks. Mr Mubcoat’s application for a lease of land at Otepopo, was declined. Mr W. H. Horner’s application to exchange sections at Martin’s Bay, was agreed to, if section 29, block 2, be forfeited.
