THE BOAT ACCIDENT.
We had not time last evening to give any account of the finding of the bodies. It may be mentioned that on Tuesday morning MiMark Webb, the waterman, hauled one of the bodies to the surface of the water on Tuesday evening, when it broke off the hook and sank again. 'I he spot was buoyed, and the dredging operations yesterday were directed to its neighborhood. The first body', that of Alfred Prictor, was recovered a little before noon by the boats of Messrs Webb and White of the Peninsula, and shortly afterwards James Drew, the younger of the brothers was raised by the police boat. The bodies of the other Drew, Bruce, and Win, ficrymgeour, were raised in quick succession, the police boat obtaining one, and Webb and White’s boat the other. "The body of the
elder Drew was found beneath the buoy placed in the water by Webb ihe night before, and in the clothes was the hook which was then lost. The bodies were placed on board of the Peninsula on her upward trip at 4.30 p.m., and brought to town, the stcamsr arriving at 6.30 p.m. The police had conveyances in waiting for them, and they were sent to their parents’ houses. The body of P. Scrymgeour was found this morning.
