WHO’S THE INVENTOR?

To the Editor. Sir, —Mr Snowdon has not thought fit to reply to my last letter ou this subject. Perhaps he acted wisely. I am desirous, however, of doing justice to Mr Snowdon. Though be is not the “inventor,” and has failed to establish his claim as an “improver,” he is entitled to some consideration for endeavouring to introduce to the public a stamp not sufficiently known. He has the merit of appreciating the commercial value of one of the best stamps ever offered to busine-s houses, and I trust he will reap the reward which his shrewdness deserves.—l am, &o. Balch.
