THE VOLUNTEERS.
The artillery fired their first eompclition for Company Uepresentatives in the Colonial prize firing this morning at the Anderson s iJav Kango, upon the following conditions, viz.—Five shots at ranges of 200, 400, 500, and GOO yards Hythe. position at the first range, and any position at the others ; Wimbleton targets, and no sighting shots. A strong gale blew across the range the whole of the morning, and the scores are in consequence very poor. I. cut. Muir and Gunner Cato headed the li t with 51 points only. Subjoined are the totals of the 12 highest scorers: —
