MAYOR’S COURT.
This Day. (Before His Worship the Mayor and J. T. Thomson, Esq., J.P.) NEGLECTED CHILD. Mary Elliott, being a neglected child, was sent to the Industrial School for one year. LARCENY. Mary Cameron, an old offender, who was discharged from gaol only the “day before yesterday, was brought up on a charge of stealing a purse containing L 4 from John Coates in a house of ill-fame in Pall Mall. She was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, with hard labor. James Jackman and Jane Jackman, chip dren under the ago of eight years, were charged with stealing a quantity of oysters belonging to Andrew Cuiss They pleaded guilty, and were discharged with a severe reprimand. The children’s mother, Rose Jackman, was charged with being an accessory before the fact, and was also discharged with a severe caution. OFFENCES AGAINST BYE LAWS. A number of cases involving breaches of the bye-laws were summarily dealt with.
