DUNEDIN SCHOOL EXAMINATIONS.
NOUTH DUNEDIN St'HOOD. The annual examination of the scholars attending this school, extended over yesterday and to-day, concluding this afternoon with the usual distribution of prizes, which was made by the Bev. D. M. Stuart. The examination was conducted by Messrs J. W, Jago, Hardy, Ilobin, and Hepbijnb members of the school committee, assisted for a short time by Mr Stuart; and the result has been that the examiners express their entire satisfaction with the progress made. Before the prizes were awarded there were singing and recitations, in which most of the scholars acquitted themselves very creditably : the proceedings afforded cousiderableplcasure to the large number of visitors who were present. The schoolroom was hung with some capital specimens of drawing and writing, and in the childrens schoolroom weyc displayed gome exceedingly specimens of girls’ handiwork in sewing and fancy-work, Before the school broke up a presentation was made to Mr Stewart, the head master, of a couple of pieces of statuary, and to Miss Hay of some toillete articles. In yesterday’;* report the name of Richard Ig'invig was erroneously substituted for that of Richard Farrant as the medallist.
