(from greville’s telegram company, beutkr’s agency.) THE HT. BATMANS SHOOTING CASE. Naseby, November 29, At the Resident Magistrate’s Court today Ewing surrendered to his bail. No interpreter being present, the Court adjourned till the arrival of the Chinese interpreter, Mr John AIIoo, who had been telegraphed for from Queenstown. Ewing’s bail was ec* larged. At 3 p.m. the Court re-assembled, when, the inte preter having arrived, the cha-ge against Se Nui, mate to the wounded Chinaman, for vagrancy was proceeded with. He was sentenced to three months’ impri* sonraent in Dunedin Gaol. The Court ad. jourued to the gaol to take the evidence of the wounded Chinaman, Ah Cbeow, who is recovering. Wanganui, November 30. The ball to the Governor last night was largely attended. Naseby, November 30. Ewing has been committed for trial, but was admitted to bail for L4OO. Ah Gheow pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment in Dunedin Gaol for robbing gold.
