Wallace arrived last evening from Oamaru. The s.s. Eangitira arrived last night from northern ports. The schooner Jane Hannah arrived this morning from Hokitika with a cargo of timber. The 8.8. Storm Bird arrived at 10 a. m, this morning, with passengers and cargo, from Invercargill. The barque Bengal, from Newcastle, was signalled at the Heads this morning, and was being towed to the Port by the Geelong at 2 p.m. . , , The s.s. Beautiful Star arrived from Invercargill at 4 p. m. on the 29th inst. ; sailed from Port Chalmers on the 125 th at 9.40 p.m. ; arrived inside New River, and being too late for the tide anchored in the lower pool; got alongside at 1.40 p.m. on the 26th inst. ; discharged 43 tons cargo, loaded 97 tons meats, 15-5 bales wool, and left at 2.30 p.m. on the 27th inst. ; passed the Bluff at 17.15 same day, and arrived as above, having experienced strong head wind and sea. The s.s. Wellington, Captain Kennedy, arrived at 8.25 a.m. to-day, with 25 passengers, 80 tons of cargo, 15 horses, and the usual mails from northern ports ; and was berthed in Carey’s Bay, near the Floating Dock, which she will enter to-morrow morning for cleaning and painting purposes. The Wellington left Mauakau November 23rd, at 5.15 p tn., arrived at Taranaki 24th at 10.15 p.m., sailed 3.30 pm. and arrived at Nelson on the 25th at 6.30 a.m ; sailed on the 26th at 6.35 a m., and arrived at Picton same day at 3.30 p.m., sailed on the 27th, at 2 a.m. and arrived at Wellington at 7.40 a m. ; sailed at 8.30 p.m., arrived at Lyttelton on the 21th at 2.50 p.m; sailed at 11.15 a.m., arrived at Port Chalmers at 8 a.m. Experienced light easterly winds to Taranaki, thence to Nelson moderate S.W breezes ; strong N.W. breezes from Nelson to arrival at Wellington, and light variable winds thence to Lyttelton ; light northerly winds to midnight, thence strong southerly winds accompanied thlok rainy weather to arrival.
