(FROM OREVILLE’S TELEOR4M COMPANY, neuter’s AGENTS.) The Defence Minister has received the following telegram from Capt. Preece “ Maketu. “ Received letter from Major Knpata, dated the 20th. He sent Te Whi-i out with a few men, and they brought in Kereru and Kereopa. Ropata, with a few men, is on his way to Wairoa to give Kereopo up to
the authorities there.” Kereopa was Mr Volkner’a murderer. The contract for the completion of the telegraph hue from Kati Kati to the Thames is taken. All ®hst sides are removed.
