i SAILED. Oamaru—Noy. 22, 10.20 a.m., Ahuriri for Dunedin.
Some anxiety was felt this morning when a barque under reefed topsails was observed standing close in to the Ocean Beach, near Lawyers Head. The extreme nearness to, the land of the vessel, which was the barque that sailed from Port Chalmers yesterday evening, led to the belief; that she' was > ashore ; but persons watching fron> points that commanded a full view of her movements, knew that such could not bo the case. After tacking about for half an hour she stood out to sea. Whether she grounded or not will, not be known until her arrival ; at the Bluff, where, she proceeds to load wool for London. The p.s. Samson sailed this forenoon* with cargo for Lyttelton and intermediate ports. The schooner, supposed to be the Cora ■from the coast, beat up from the Heads this morning, and anchored in the cross channel. The 8.8. Storm Bird arrived this morning from southern, ports, and passed up to Dunedin. The brigantine Emulous, that sailed yesterday from the Kaik for the Bluff, put back to the Heads this forenoon. The barque Hydra is expected to sail for Newcastle to-morrow.
