The amount of revenue received at tbe Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was £3ll los lid. Trade sales in flour have been well maintained this week, and orders for the Northern Provinces have been more extensive. Small lots of best brands are disposable at Ll3 10s, For large orders Ll3 is] the rate. The quantity of oatmeal now being quitted is much in excess of what it has been for tbe last few months—trade wants are met at Ll4. Bran is not so plentiful, and there is every appearance of the supply becoming short before the mills are again in full working order. Pollard is scarce. In wheat there has been nothing done ; for good lots, 5s to 5s 3d is wanted. Second class is in better request, at from 4s to 4s Gel. For fowl wheat, 3s is tbe value. Malting barley can be disposed of at 3s 9d, for feeding samples there is also a good inquiry at 2s te 2s 3d. Oats are dull at 2s for first class parcels. Wheat, 5s to 5s 3d ; oats, 2s; barley, 2s 3d and 3s 9d ; flour, Ll3 to Ll3 10s ; pollard, with bags, L 4 10s ; bran, with bags, L 3 los; oatmeal, Ll4; pearl barley, Ll9; potatoes. L 6 ; straw, L2 10s; hay, L 4 10s; chaff, L 4 10s; turnips, L2. A. Mercer reports for the week ending Nov. 18.—Retail prices only: Fresh butter, in and lib prints, 7d to 9d per lb, according to quality; fresh butter, in lumps, 6d to 7d per lb ; powdered and salt butter, 8d per lb; salt butter, in kegs, 7d per lb. There is no improvement in the market for cheese and the market here is still overstocked, and offering at any price ; for first-class qualities, 6d to 8d per lb, and second-class 4d to 6d per lb. Side and rolled bacon : there is little demand, and selling at 9d to lOd per lb. for first-class quality. Colonial hams, 10(1 to Is per lb ; English hams, Is 4cl per lb, but there is little or no demand. Eggs in good demand, and selling at Is per dozen. Some of the best draught horses that have yet been received from Victoria, and which were brought over by the Tararua, were offered for sale to-day by Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co., at the Provincial Yards. The horses were in splendid condition, and many of the mares submitted were prize-takers in Victoria. The attendance of buyers was large, though the competition was not so spirited as might have been expected. The prices fetched ranged from L3O to L6O.
