PARLIAMENT.
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Wellington, November 9, The Railway Bill was taken in oommittee last night. All the lines in the First Schedule were passed, the Government stating that they had decided to place the line from Tokomairiro toTuapeka in the list. A division was taken upon the line from Wellington to Masterton, which was carried by 35 to 17. The Otago members voted—Ayes : Bathgate, Bell, Haughton, Macandrew, M‘Clashan, Steward, Tairoa. Noes: Bradshaw, M‘Lean, Reid, Reynolds, Shepherd, Thomson. There was a long debate upon the several lines. The House rose at 4.30 a.m. The Phecbe will take the Southern members home. She leaves on Saturday, at midnight. [The above telegram was received too late for publication last evening.] Progress was made on Wednesday evening in committee on the Railway Bill, and in the Public Works and Immigration Bills. A great deal of formal business was got through. The prorogation is expected to take place on Monday.
