MAYOR’S COURT.
This Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor.) DRUNKENNESS. William Jones, for this offence, was fined ss. OFFENCES AGAINST THE BYE-LAWS. John Bond and Alex. Potts, for allowing cattle to stray, were each fined 2s 6d and costs ; and Michael Heard was mulcted iu a similar amount for allowing a cow to de pasture on the Town Belt, Wm. i ishop, for allowing a horse to stray, was fined 5s and costs. ASSAULT. James v. Z. D. Patterson, a charge of assault, was dismissed. VAGRANCY, Mary Kirby, aged fourteen years, was charged with obtaining goods by means of false pretences ; and Mary Kirby, her mother, was charged with having counselled her to do so. The girl pleaded guilty, but the mother requested an adjournment till Monday, which was granted.
