PARLIAMENT.
(from our own correspondent.) Wellington, October 28. In the House of Representatives, the Married Woman’s Proberty Bill has passed the House. The Public Revenues Bill has gone through Committee. The Committee divided upon section 3, and carried it by 29 to 27. The Immigration and Public Works Bill was read a second time. The Railway Bill was brought down by message. . In the Legislative Council the Law Practitioners Bill was read a second time by 13 to 12. It will not pass without serious modifications antagonistic to Mr Smythies. A resolution that Parliament should meet at the seat of Government, was carried by 21 to 7. In the House of Representatives, Mr Haughton in debate ou the Immigration Bill, said a Board was unnecessary, and this met with general approbation, Mr Fox intimated the intention of the Government to modify the Bill accordingly. [The section referred to in the Public Revenues Bill, provides that the provisions of section 44 of Public Revenues Act, 1867, shall apply only to expenses to June 30, 1871— Ed. E. N’.]
