WASTE LAND BOARD.
At yesterday’s meeting, at which were present the Chief Commissioner, Messrs Duncan and Hughes, the following business was trausapted:— The consideration of the application of the Switzers Miners’ Protection Association, for full information respecting the sale of fifty acres of lapd to one Allan M‘Donald, was postponed. On the report of R. W. Capstick on the proposal to sell half of section 1, block 3, Coast district, being read, it was resolved to rescind the Board’s resolution of the 18th hist. —the laud to be sold as land of special value.
The report of Ranger Irving, on the proposal to lease Kaitangata bush for saw mill purposes, being read, it was agreed to grant a saw mill license for a twelve horse-power engine to Mr Manning (without exclusive privilege of the bush), at L 5 per horse-
power; not to commence till Ist of June, 1872.
The report of Mr Warden Beetbam, on the application of John Lacton to lease a piece of ground at Arrowtown for a quarry, was read ; and the land was ordered to be divided "into sections and sold by auction. On tenders being opened for Blueskin Island, it was resolved that it should not be leased, and the Crown Commissioner was requested to take steps to remove the present tenant.
The report of Ranger Hughan, on Mr Tolmie’s application for a right to graze on a specilied portion of Wairnna Hundred, was agreed to.
